Abstract

The main objective of this study is to obtain an in-depth understanding of the profile of ecotourism in Chile, a country that stands out as a relevant destination for ecotourism. An online survey was conducted in which 406 individuals who had undertaken tourism activities in Chilean nature participated. The survey collected detailed data on various sociodemographic aspects, including educational level, occupation, monthly income, and family structure. These data allowed a clear and precise profile of ecotourism in Chile to be drawn up. The results of the study reveal that ecotourists in Chile tend to have a high level of education and a stable occupation, with monthly incomes that allow them to invest in ecotourism experiences. In addition, it was observed that family structure also plays a role in travel decisions, with many ecotourists traveling in family groups or with friends. In terms of preferred activities, a strong interest in bird watching, park visits, and hiking was identified. This analysis provides valuable information to different organizations involved in nature tourism in Chile, providing data that can be used to create and implement more effective tourism marketing strategies.
