This research was conducted in a tourism context in the municipality of Zacapoaxtla, with the main objective of analyzing the existing conditions of this municipality to determine its viability as a Mycotourism destination. It was based on a causal hypothesis that the cultural, environmental, and tourism infrastructure conditions in Zacapoaxtla, Puebla, positively influence its viability as a Mycotourism destination, which in turn promotes sustainable social and rural development in the Sierra Norte of Puebla. A mixed methodology was used, which allowed for the description of tourists' demographic data and, on the other hand, the establishment of a correlation between variables using the Pearson correlation coefficient. The results obtained demonstrate that the hypothesis is confirmed, as there is a high Pearson correlation with a value of 0.64. Finally, the research opened new future lines of investigation to continue developing the topic of Mycotourism.
