Author Guidelines

EDITORIAL GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

Accepted Submission Types

RICIT publishes exclusively original, unpublished works in the following formats:

Research Articles: complete research projects with a clear focus on tourism, hospitality, or gastronomy.
Methodological Articles: description and analysis of new methodologies applied to the study of tourism.
Case Studies: in-depth analyses that provide valuable perspectives on tourism practices or phenomena.
Practical Innovation Articles: research that documents the implementation of new practices or technologies in tourism, with measurable results.

Business plans, institutional diagnoses, and works submitted as a requirement for thesis or dissertation processes are not accepted.

Manuscript Length and Format

The maximum length indicated includes tables, figures, and bibliographic references:

Articles, case studies, and innovation articles: maximum 20 pages

The manuscript must be submitted in the following format:

Font: Times New Roman, size 12.
Line spacing: 1.15.
Justified text, A4 page size.
File format: Microsoft Word (.docx).
Submissions may be in Spanish, English, or Portuguese.

Figures and Tables:

Illustrations, photographs, and images of any kind will be referred to as Figures.

Tables containing statistical or systematized information will be referred to as Tables.

All figures and tables must be numbered, titled, cited in the text, and placed in the appropriate location within the document, not at the end.
They must also be submitted as additional files in the OJS system, with a resolution of no less than 300 dpi. Manuscript Structure

3.1 Research Articles

Title in Spanish and English.
Abstract: maximum 200 words each.
Keywords: minimum 5, in Spanish/Portuguese and English.
Introduction: research problem, objectives, hypothesis (if applicable), state of the art.
Theoretical Framework: theories and concepts relevant to the topic.
Methodology: approach, instruments, and procedures used.
Results: findings and analysis of the data obtained.
Conclusions: final interpretation and implications of the study.
References.

Citation and Reference Style

References should be formatted according to APA style, seventh edition (American Psychological Association, 2020). It is recommended to consult: https://apastyle.apa.org/

The current version is the seventh edition (2020). Manuscripts using earlier editions or styles other than those indicated will not be accepted.

Anonymity and Peer Review

The journal uses a double-blind peer review system: neither the author knows the reviewer's identity, nor does the reviewer know the author's identity.

Consequently:

The manuscript must not contain any information that could identify the authors: names, affiliations, acknowledgments with institutional mention, references to personal projects that could imply authorship, or other identifying information.
The presence of authorship information within the manuscript file will result in automatic rejection of the submission.
Author data must be registered exclusively in the OJS platform's metadata.

All manuscripts must be submitted through the OJS platform, with complete and final metadata at the time of submission.

The corresponding author is solely responsible for:

Entering the complete and accurate information for all authors.
Verifying that the information is accurate and final before finalizing the submission.

Only those listed in the metadata at the time of submission will be considered authors. Authorship changes will not be accepted once the editorial process has begun.

The omission of authors from the metadata or the subsequent request to add new authors constitutes a serious ethical violation. The journal may reject the manuscript at any stage of the process.

6.1 Required Data on the Platform

Full name of the author(s) with their highest academic degree obtained.

If the manuscript was prepared with the participation of master's students, the corresponding author must be a faculty member with a verifiable master's or doctoral degree. The journal may request supporting documentation.
ORCID identifier of each author, enabled for public viewing.
Full institutional affiliation: full name of the institution, city, and country.

The "Affiliation" field refers exclusively to the institution where the author studies or works. If there is no institutional affiliation, "Independent Researcher" and the country of residence should be indicated.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor). In case of incurring this fault, the journal automatically rejects the document in full and makes an observation to the author in future contributions.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text has line spacing 1.15; 12 point size; Times New Roman font, justified text, A4 size. Italics are used instead of underlining (except in URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed at the appropriate places in the text, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements established in the Editorial Norms of the journal.

Copyright Notice

When submitting their manuscript, the authors are accepting that the journal begins with the editorial review process (which includes submitting the document to an Anti-Plagiarism Software review) and double-blind peer review. Once the work passes to phase 4, the authors must download, fill out and sign the letter of assignment of rights, which authorizes the journal to publish the article in the corresponding number. Authors do not lose their copyright, however, they cannot publish the same article content in other journals.
