Analysis of the Diversity of Birds in the Antisana Ecological Reserve for the Proposal of Birthwatching Routes: Análisis de la diversidad de aves en la Reserva Ecológica Antisana como recurso turístico para la propuesta de rutas de Aviturismo

Abstract

The tourism in Ecuador increases day by day, however, activities such as turistic bird watching lack promotion; tourists arrive without any information, which causes a lack of knowledge of the bird resource in the Reserve and what falls into the lack of quantification of the resources generated by this activity in the local people at The Antisana Ecological Reserve does not have birdwatch tourism routes where visitors can improve their level of experience when they arrive in this protected area. An exploratory study was carried out that highlights the potential of birdwatch tourism, for the generation of a tourist product for the Reserve, which favors tourism development in the Reserve and neighboring towns.
