The objective of this research is to diagnose the existence of sites with potential for the development of dark tourism in Cúcuta (Colombia) and its metropolitan area. Through the contingent valuation method, the value of goods (products or services) for which there is no market is estimated; a market is simulated by qualitative methods to verify the importance of the sites and to evaluate the possibility of naming them a tourist asset. As a result, 4 tourism resources were identified, 3 correspond to tangible elements possible assets of cultural interest and 1 of oral tradition. It is concluded that in Cúcuta and its metropolitan area, there are sites for the development of dark tourism or any type of tourism of a cultural nature related to the repair of victims of the armed conflict in Colombia.
